First of all, Happy New Year!
Here we are in 2026 and this trade war doesn't seem to be getting any better. Over the last few months, I've been inundated with emails asking how much duties and taxes will be for a number of different countries and trust me, it's just as confusing to me as you.
What's worse, is that despite my best efforts to notify everyone that duties and taxes are not included in our pricing, a few of you have refused to pay for these charges at the point of delivery. Obviously, this creates a sticky situation for everyone involved and getting duties and taxes shock just before getting your new watch is not the experience I want anyone to have.
What's worse is that I've had some customers refuse to pay their duties and taxes despite having received the watch, and then Fedex charges Fleux instead. Seems ridiculous right?
That's why starting today, I've enabled duties and taxes to be calculated and charged automatically at checkout. You prepay the duties and taxes to us and we remit on your behalf.
New Handling Fee ($40)
You may have noticed there is now a $40 additional handling charge at checkout. Trust me, this is NOT what I want to do and Fleux does not make any money from this.
In the traditional way of handling duties and taxes, you would receive an invoice from Fedex for the duties, taxes and handling fees (clearance + disbursement). We are simply collecting this from you in advance since we are now remitting duties and taxes on your behalf.
It is simply a pass-through cost.
Like you, I would prefer it if we went back to the way things were but that doesn't seem likely. But here's to hoping that providing you with the easiest, pain-free checkout and delivery process makes life a little easier.
If you have any questions, please reach out to me at info@fleuxwatches.com.
Thanks.
Ed from Fleux
